When the Morgantown Area Partnership described their website as the front door to community and economic development in the region, it set a clear direction for the project. This work was not about a visual refresh alone. It was about building a digital space that functions as a practical, dependable resource for business owners, investors, site selectors, and community members engaged in shaping Morgantown’s future.
The goal was straightforward. The website needed to clearly communicate who the Partnership is, what they provide, and why Morgantown stands out as a place to live, work, and invest.
The Challenge
Our Approach
Designing for Real Use
Tools That Support Growth
Several features became essential to the new site experience:
- Partnership tools that streamline access to member resources and services
- A full, easy to navigate events calendar
- A site selector tool that helps users explore opportunities to live, work, and invest
- Business briefings featured on the homepage, offering timely insights into the region
Over the last few months, 76.4% of visitors arrived directly at the site, totaling more than 12,700 users. This level of direct traffic reflects strong awareness and trust, showing that people know where to go when they are looking for the Morgantown Area Partnership. Search traffic continues to introduce new users researching the region, while social and internal links help guide visitors to relevant information.
Bringing the Story to Life
The Outcome
The updated website is more attractive, more approachable, and better equipped to support the Partnership’s mission. It provides a stronger platform for sharing information, highlighting opportunities, and connecting with the community, while offering users an experience that respects their time and helps them move forward with confidence.
Why This Matters
This project reinforces a simple truth. Effective digital work is not about flash or excess. When a website is built with care, collaboration, and a clear understanding of its audience, it becomes a trusted tool.
