MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — InnerAction Media, a local leader in marketing and advertising, is proud to announce that it has been honored with a People’s Telly Award Bronze in the category of Branded Content. The accolade recognizes their outstanding work on the “Miracles Happen” campaign for the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute.

“It has been a pleasure working with InnerAction on several initiatives. They have always been highly professional, efficient with their use of film time, and effective with their deliverables,” Dr. Vinay Badhwar, executive chair of WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, says. “They capture our most important tenor of caring deeply for the outcomes of our patients while providing a message that is relatable to all we serve.”

The project featured George Jenkins, an atrial fibrillation (AFib) patient at WVU Medicine. George underwent a life-saving robotic Cox-Maze procedure after living with AFib for 10 years, a condition he once feared might claim his life. Now, he’s returned to his normal activities, including running the beloved Dairy King in Philippi. This story highlights the state’s only dedicated multidisciplinary AFib team at WVU Medicine, comprised of electrophysiologists, cardiologists, and heart surgeons, all committed to combating this challenging condition.

“Working with the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute has been an incredible experience, personally and professionally,” says Liza Heiskell, InnerAction Media Creative Director. “The opportunity to bring to light groundbreaking medical procedures while also sharing the inspiring stories of patients is a privilege.”

The project’s success is a testament to the exceptional talents at InnerAction Media. Heiskell; Gabe Ofca, director of photography; and Justin Schofield, videographer, brought their artistic vision and technical expertise to capture and share George Jenkins’ inspiring journey. Their dedication and skill were integral to creating a compelling narrative highlighting medical innovation and Jenkins’ resilience.

“It was an honor to capture and share the success story of George’s procedure,” said Ofca. “I’m grateful for such excellence in medicine within the state of West Virginia and that the efforts of WVU Medicine are able to improve and extend the lives of people like George. I look forward to sharing many more impactful stories through my work with the team at InnerAction Media.”
