Innovation in medicine doesn’t stop in the operating room. It moves forward when knowledge is shared.
That belief is at the heart of Advancing in Robotic Heart Surgery, a groundbreaking YouTube educational series led by Vinay Badhwar, MD, Executive Chair of the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute and a globally recognized pioneer in robotic cardiac surgery. Designed for surgeons and medical teams around the world, the series guides viewers from the earliest stages of preparation through complex procedures, including multi-valve and atrial fibrillation operations, all through the lens of robotic surgery.
Inner Action Media partnered with Dr. Badhwar and WVU Medicine to translate this level of innovation into an educational video platform built to advance the field.
Pushing the Front Lines of Surgical Innovation
Dr. Badhwar and the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute have helped redefine what is possible in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, including pioneering Robotic Aortic Valve Replacement (RAVR). This approach allows surgeons to replace a diseased aortic valve through a small incision between the ribs using advanced robotic instruments, increasing precision while reducing patient recovery time. This breakthrough created a need for education that could match that advancement.
“When we first began working with Dr. Badhwar, he shared his vision of creating this YouTube series. This was something he had been thinking about and hoping to bring to life for a few years. To now be part of the team helping turn that vision into reality is incredibly meaningful. We are honored to help bring his passion to fruition.”

Advancing in Robotic Heart Surgery is a structured, progressive learning system. The full series includes nearly 40 videos across six seasons, with each season building on the last. Viewers move from foundational concepts to increasingly complex stages of robotic cardiac surgery, mirroring the real-world progression of surgical mastery.
Building an Educational Platform
This project was meant to function as a true teaching resource. Surgeons at different experience levels would be watching from hospitals, classrooms, and training centers around the world.
Dr. Badhwar led the educational vision. He developed the curriculum, structured each season and episode, and ensured the material delivered real clinical value.
Inner Action Media played a central role in bringing that vision to life on screen, overseeing the majority of filming, post-production for the YouTube series. Our focus was on presenting complex surgical information in a clear and watchable format. That meant:
- Capturing procedures and demonstrations
- Lighting, framing, and filming all episode intros and outros, ensuring delivery felt natural and engaging
- Editing for clarity, pacing, and continuity across episodes
- Maintaining a clean, professional tone appropriate for medical education
- Creating a consistent visual style that could support multiple seasons
Every production decision supported one goal: make Dr. Badhwar’s instruction easy to watch, and to enhance the educational experience.
“Dr. Badhwar and his team at the WVU HVI are best-in-class medical professionals who truly care about giving real people the opportunity for an extended and higher quality of life. It was a privilege to be able to work with this team and I’m excited to see how this series impacts how surgeries are performed around the globe.”

Global Reach, Real-World Impact
As robotic cardiac surgery continues to expand worldwide, this series plays a key role in how that knowledge travels. Dr. Badhwar regularly teaches and collaborates internationally, and the video platform allows his expertise to reach far beyond a single operating room or lecture hall.
By pairing world-class surgical leadership with real-life robotic surgical cases and high quality production standards, the series will become a resource for surgeons across borders, supporting safer adoption, deeper understanding, and continued innovation in robotic heart surgery.
Why This Project Matters
Advancing in Robotic Heart Surgery demonstrates what is possible when education, medicine, and media align with a shared purpose.
For Inner Action Media, this project reflects a commitment to creating content that educates, advances industries, and helps leaders share knowledge that can change outcomes.
“After spending the last four years collaborating with Dr. Badhwar on a range of projects, I feel an immense sense of pride in this production. The trust he places in Inner Action Media to help bring complex medical innovation to life means a great deal to us. This project represents not only the advancement of an important surgical field, but also the strength of a partnership built on shared purpose and commitment to excellence.”
