Position Overview
The Business Development Associate will play a vital supporting role in advancing the growth of Inner Action Media by assisting in identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and supporting the company’s expanding market presence.
This entry-level position reports directly to the Business Development Manager and is intentionally designed as a growth-track role. The associate will train under the BDM, learning IAM’s sales process, client service philosophy, and strategic approach to business development. Over time, this position will evolve into a client-facing role with the expectation of assuming full account management responsibilities for IAM’s flagship partnerships.
In the early stages, the Business Development Associate will function as both a sales associate and assistant, contributing directly to revenue growth while supporting inbound and outbound marketing strategies across the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities through research, outreach, and prospecting.
- Support the development of proposals and presentations by gathering background information, contributing ideas, and coordinating with internal teams.
- Execute inbound and outbound sales initiatives, including email outreach, follow-ups, and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
- Maintain accurate records and workflows in the company’s CRM system, ensuring all contact details, communication history, and next steps are up to date.
- Conduct market and client research to support targeting strategies and new business efforts.
- Draft and send client communications, schedule meetings, and coordinate timely follow-ups.
- Shadow the Business Development Manager in meetings, presentations, and strategy sessions, with the goal of transitioning into account management on larger accounts.
- Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team and internal creative, production, and digital teams to ensure smooth handoffs and support campaign strategy.
- Contribute ideas to improve sales processes, outreach strategies, and overall business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sales, marketing, client service, or business development preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Comfortable using CRM platforms, email marketing tools, and digital communication systems.
- Collaborative mindset and the ability to work well within a team.
