Multimedia Journalist
Job Summary:
As an IAM Multimedia Journalist, you will be at the forefront of blending traditional journalism with cutting-edge digital technologies. Your role will be multifaceted, involving the creation and distribution of compelling news features, brand journalism videos, and multimedia content across various platforms, including print and digital. You will employ your journalistic acumen in research, writing, and fact-checking, along with handling all logistics and scheduling, to produce content that captivates our audience and enhances online engagement. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing social media content and content creation, actively engaging with our audience through these platforms. Working closely with our video production team, you will contribute to the development and execution of high-quality video projects, ensuring they align with our editorial standards and brand vision. This role requires a dynamic combination of digital savvy, creative storytelling, and technical expertise in multimedia journalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Production: Craft engaging stories and multimedia content for web and print. Responsibilities range from business news reporting to creating feature stories, interviews, video scripts, and designing infographics, tailored to the diverse needs of our clients.
- Research and Story Development: Immerse yourself in story research, uncovering leads, identifying interview subjects, and verifying facts to pitch and create fresh, innovative content for our clients.
- Online Publishing: Utilize various CMS platforms to publish content online, combining your technical know-how and creative flair to integrate text, graphics, and video elements seamlessly.
- Graphic and Video Design: Conceptualize and design graphic elements for video packages, working collaboratively with coworkers to merge text and imagery for enhanced story engagement.
- Social Media Promotion: Actively promote content across social media, engaging with the audience to amplify reach and address any feedback.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in News, Journalism, Media, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in a news agency or multimedia environment.
- Essential skills in shooting, editing, and producing video packages.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, juggling multiple projects and adhering to tight deadlines.
- A commitment to detail, organization, and consistent follow-through.
