Abbie Backenstoe
Multimedia Journalist | Marketing Specialist
Abbie was born and raised outside of Philadelphia in the Lehigh Valley. West Virginia University brought her to the mountain state where she received a degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in sports marketing. Abbie spent the last three years as an on-air sports personality at WBOY 12 News in Clarksburg where she began her career in media. Abbie is a true storyteller and her passion lies in creating relationships with everyone she works with. She continues to grow her extensive media experience through storytelling, video, photo and social media work.
Abbie enjoys the outdoors whether it’s kayaking, hiking or finding the “most Instagram-able” spots in West Virginia. She also enjoys cheering on Philadelphia sports teams (while trying not to get overly upset over them!) practicing yoga and fitness, and dining at local restaurants in whatever town she’s visiting.
